Athens and New York are getting closer

The first photo is in New York Metro and was taken by my friend Nikos (here is the post in his own blog). I took the second one in Athens. Both are promoting the new Continental Airlines Athens-New York route.

It's exciting to look how the same thing is promoted in both sides of the trip.

I'm sorry that I don't agree with you, but how you can find exciting something that is being advertised, even in both sides of the trip....are you taking free tickets for that pic?

LOL! I wish I did!

Hi Ovelikios,

I was just wondering (your second photo), is it a billboard above the roads? I don't think the ad has achieved its maximum impact. I work in the advertising industry and there is a three-second golden rule. An advertiser only has three seconds to capture the attention of the passer-by, and the billboard is full of words! I'd say it fits better in a magazine.

I'm from Singapore and you can view my photo blog at:

I was just in Europe, and I often looked at ads for American companies just to see how similar or different their ads are on that side of the ocean. Our of curiousity, since I don't speak or read Greek. . .. Do the two ads say the same thing?

Chris, not at all. The greek text says "Discover America via New York City. Over 230 destinations in USA."
